International Symposium for
SILICATE ARTS

6th - 28th May, 2008

To commemorate the II International Triennial of Silicate Arts held in Kecskemet from 4th May - 8th June, 2008 the International Ceramics Studio will host a major symposium for artists working in the silicate arts of Ceramics, Porcelain, Glass and Concrete - or combinations of these materials.

The aims of this 3 week symposium are to stimulate both fine and applied artists to create interesting and innovative objects to give scope to the industrial and artistic application of new materials and technologies, encouraging the widening of directions in 21st century silicate arts.

The symposium is open to all artists who wish working in the silicate arts and will feature invited masters demonstrating their techniques and a programme of slide shows and talks by the participants.

IMRE SCHRAMMEL - "Preface for the Silicate Arts"
JANOS PROBSTNER - "Thoughts about the Silicates and their Future in Art"

 


Costs of participation

The cost of participating in this program is 189,000 Hungarian Forints and this includes your accommodation in a single room with shared facilities on a self catering basis, your studio space and use of all facilities. It does not include the cost of materials and firings which will be charged depending on how much you use.
