A symposium working on the theme of the figure – from sculptural to surface imagery.

The human figure has played a large role in the particular vocabulary of forms specific to ceramic practice. This symposium will investigate figurative ceramic sculpture in its technical and conceptual aspects. Issues of scale, from the figurine to life-sized and beyond, of representation, of abstraction, of gender and of various issues implicit in the topic will be explored. Content and presentation as they affect experience and the communication of ideas will be considered. Studio work, demonstrations, researches and presentations, discussions and critiques form an integral part of the symosium.

A figura témájával foglalkozó szimpózium – a plasztikától a felületi ábrázolásig

Az emberi alak jelentős szerepet játszik a kerámia gyakorlatra jellemző forma különleges kifejezésieszköz-készletében. Ez a szimpózium technikai és fogalmi szempontokból kutatja a figuratív kerámia plasztikát. Olyan kérdések, mint az arány, a szobrocskától az életnagyságúig és azon túl, az ábrázolás, a nemek és még számos különböző, a témában benne rejlő kérdés képezi majd vizsgálat tárgyát. Szó lesz a tartalom és az ábrázolás élményre gyakorolt hatásáról is. A stúdió munkán kívül a demonstrációk, kutatások és prezentációk, viták és kritikák alkotják a szimpózium programját.
