WOOD, FIRE & SALT II
Built in 1984 by East German kiln maker Hartmut Schattal. It was the
first salt glaze kiln to be built in Hungary. Fired hundreds of times
over a 20 year period. Still firing beautifully. Takes an average 10 -
12 hour firing to cone 10 down.
Many international award winning works have been fired in this kiln. On average 5 kilos of salt are used in salting and rich effects are achieved with the large amount of residue salt in the kiln.
