JULIET

Ráthonyi Kinga, ceramic artist.

The title of the exhibition is shouted by a boy to a girl in Shakespeare’s play.
The 3D story-board visible in the gallery consists of the girl’s (aka little girl /aka anti-angel) stories, a selection of older and newer works.
Kinga Ráthonyi’s art is the meeting of porcelain and poetry.
Her porcelain sculptures are poems, her exhibitions are poetry books made of porcelain. This has always been the case, and it is still the case now. A lyrical self speaks from her works.

Exhibition opening: Thursday, 11 June, 2026, at 5 pm
Opening by: Anna T. Szabó, writer, poet.
Music by: József Bazsinka, tuba player
The exhibition is open until July 4th from Tuesday to Saturday between 14:00-18:00.

SHARED LANGUAGE OF MATERIALS
selection of works from the Silicate Art Triennials

The exhibition features a selection of works from the Silicate Art Triennials, an event initiated by János Probstner, founder of the International Ceramics Studio, showcasing the results of the international exhibitions held between 2005 and 2017.
Silicates are one of the most common groups of minerals on Earth; they are based on compounds of silicon and oxygen, often supplemented with other elements—such as aluminum, magnesium, iron, or calcium. Today, an increasing number of artists are turning to these materials as a personal, creative medium, while they are also playing an ever more prominent role in the fields of fine art and design. Silicates are thus not merely physical mediums, but also conveyors of cultural and conceptual meaning.
The exhibition—which features works made of glass, concrete, ceramics, and porcelain, as well as pieces created from combinations of these materials—does not focus primarily on the award-winning works; nevertheless, it opens up a separate universe for its visitors, inviting those interested to engage in dialogue.

Exhibition opening: Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 5 pm
Welcome speech: Dóra Barta, managing director of Kecskeméti Hírös Agóra and the Kecskemét Contemporary Art Workshops
Opening by: György Fusz, ceramic artist and president of the Foundation for Contemporary Ceramic Art

This exhibition in Cegléd offers a selection of figurative works from the collection, featuring sculptures by American, Irish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Lithuanian, and Hungarian artists. It explores two seemingly distant yet deeply interconnected dimensions of human existence: the everyday, profane world and the sacred, timeless realm of stories. The ceramic sculptures on view evoke both familiar moments of daily life and the elevated, symbolic figures of biblical and mythological narratives. Figures from everyday scenes take shape through simple gestures and movements. Alongside them—rather than in opposition—appear figures from biblical and mythological themes, unfolding as part of our collective memory and spiritual heritage.
These figures are not merely characters in stories, but embodiments of the threshold experiences of human existence: carriers of faith, sacrifice, suffering, and redemption. Rather than sharply separating these two realms, the exhibition brings them into dialogue. The profane and the sacred become interpretable through one another: within everyday gestures, the possibility of the transcendent emerges, while sacred scenes are brought closer to human experience.
The exhibition not only presents but also raises questions: where is the boundary between the everyday and the sacred? Does such a boundary exist at all?
