Each
year up to twelve guest artists are invited to work in the studio to accomplish
their own projects and to work in collaboration with other artists on
the various themed symposia organised by the ICS. All invited guests are
acknowledged and experienced masters in their various fields.
All
invited artists present their ideas and philosophy through slideshows
and lectures and are expected to present their work methods to other artists
and residents at the ICS through a workshop or demonstration seminar.
On certain occasions these can be open for other interetsed groups.
All
invited artists are required to leave some of the work created during
their time here for our permanent Contemporary Ceramics Collection of
the ICS. Pieces will be selected in collaboration with our art committee.
Invited
artists are provided with free accommodation and studio space, technical
assistance where needed and an agreed amount of materials and firing expenses.
