The Museum and Gallery, which houses the collection of the studio, was founded for the turn of the new millennium in a purpose built wing of the studio. 'Museion' comprises of two main gallery spaces, lecture and conference rooms, accommodation for visiting artists and storage facilities. In the near future a new selling gallery will be opening. All artists who participate in the scholarship and invitation programmes at the International Ceramics Studio leave some of their works for the studio's collection. This is how a Museion has been created here. A Museion in the original, ancient meaning of the word - a place devoted to the Muses, where the source of inspiration is easy to find, where the created values are preserved and shown, where the works of the predecessors inspire the newcomers for perfection, where the collection of the pieces also enhances creativity. Museion organises a series of exhibitions throughout the year, featuring either solo or thematic shows from the collection as well as exhibitions of invited artists work in other disciplines. The small ante room known as the Chapel, usually features a single piece selected from our unique collection to be displayed for a month. The museion galleries are also available for private hire for individual or group exhibitions. Please contact the studio for further information. The
museum is open to the public at the following times:
