The International
Ceramics Studio went through - and survived - so many critically
difficult situations. During the course of two and a half decades
Kecskemét became a spiritual centre for ceramics craftspeople
from Hungary and abroad.
Despite being
barricaded off by the impenetrable walls thrown up by communist
system, the International Ceramics Studio retained its intellectual
freedom. The studio became known by all the creative artists,
from all over the world, who come here either to work or to visit
as "the meeting place for artists from East and West, the
island of creative thoughts, the ceramic artists cloister"
The studio
is celebrating the first 25 years of its existence. We hope that
the passage of time will prove us right in having described the
studio's 25th anniversary as it "first twenty-five years".
