The International Ceramics Studio actively encourages participation by individual students and student groups.

The studio has an impressive range of facilities, including specialist equipment not usually available to students in normal educational establishments, providing them with increased opportunities and experiences. The highly qualified staff and technicians are available to offer support and guidance. Students have exceptional 24 hour access to workshops and equipment, breaking down the barriers between education, life and art.

Alongside our specialist resident artist staff members, leading Hungarian artists and world-famous artists invited by the Studio also teach while making their own work. Students are able to learn in a supportive and mutually creative way, experiencing philosophy, processes of thought and technical expertise of the masters.

There are acknowledged international artists on the staff at ICS available to assist and advise on a range of technical problems and discuss artistic and aesthethic issues in students work.

STUDENT GROUPS
We also organise and facilitate educational programs for many student groups, including travel, workshop visits, invited lecturers and demonstrators and interesting field trips. Many universities bring a student group and tutors to complete a student project, using the facilities we offer. Please discuss possibilities with our international co-ordinator. Discounts are available on the costs for student groups.

EDUCATION AT THE INTERNATIONAL CERAMICS STUDIO and the UNIVERSITY OF WEST HUNGARY, SILICATE DEPARTMENT
After an initial 10 years hosting the Master School of the Hungarian University of Applied Art, Budapest we have now built up a new department.
The practical workshops of the Department of Silicate Arts of the Faculty of Design of the University of West Hungary, Sopron are now housed in the studio.

Based on the accumulated experience of the past 25 years of studio existence and the Master school teaching we have developed here a new undergraduate and post graduate education with a rare teaching method. A new Renaissance of art teaching exists in Kecskemét, in the true spirit of the middle age masters of Caravaggio, Raphael and Leonardo, accepting students into their workshops to pass on their knowledge for future generations.

In this school students live and work in a unique educational atmosphere. This environment allows our students to learn in a more individual and expressive way, finding their own solutions to problems, their own direction, in their own time and pace allowing individuality and creativity to blossom like the masters who have walked this path before.

A condition for all invited professional artists to the Studio is that they leave some of their pieces made in the studio for the collection of the ICS. This is how we have created a unique collection of international contemporary ceramic art to which students have access to handle, study and research the actual works, often only seen in books or magazines. An invaluable resource, inspiring students to strive for perfection. The collection now houses in excess of 3000 pieces of artwork from over 326 artists from 43 countries.
