The
beautiful market town of Kecskemét is the county town of Bacs Kiskun
and is situated about 80 kilometres south of the Hungarian capital, Budapest,
in the centre of the Great Plain.
Kecskemét
is well served by public transport - both trains and buses. Journey time
is about one and a half hours by both train and bus. The Bus and Train
station in Kecskemét are right beside each other and about a 15
minute walk to the studio. The studio is in the city centre, about 5 minutes
from the main square of the town.

Arriving
by air to Budapest
Budapest
is served by most of the major airlines or their partners. Every major
European airport is only 1 - 3 hours away and offer direct flights to
Hungary. Depending which airline you are flying to Budapest with you
will arrive at either Ferihegy 2A for all Malev Flights, or 2B for all
other airlines. Some airlines operate partnerships with Malev so you may arrive into 2A.
All EU budget airlines arrive into terminal 1. See below.
There
are several budget airlines now flying into the refurbished Budapest
Terminal 1 from many European cities. These include:

take you to any single destination within Budapest for a cheaper standard
amount. (2300 HUF). You can also book a return ticket for 3900 forints.

A new taxi operator started operationg from Ferihegy. Zóna taxi offers low prices and high quality level of services. At the same time, pre-ordered taxis can be ordered as usual at the airport.

The fares shown are the maximum fares in forints which Zóna Service will be allowed to charge in each zone for a journey. The journeys will also be metered, and if the meter shows a lower fare, then passengers will only pay the lower fare.

Minibus railway terminal network with fixed tariffs. Railway passengers
will be taken from the main railway terminals to other stations or to

Train
Trains to Kecskemét leave Budapest from NYUGATI PÁLYAUDVAR (Western Railway Satation). Nyugati
Pályaudvar can be reached with the Blue Metro Line or by Trams
4 and 6.
Trains to Kecskemét leave Nyugati Pályaudvar at regular
times throughout the day. Last train leaves Budapest at 21.35. Please
check with www.elvira.hu for the actual times on your day of travel. There is an English version
online.
Tickets cost from 2570 ft for 1st class and 2120ft for second. First class charges a supplement for a reserved seat.. Intercity trains are clean, fast and
air conditioned.
New Rail link to Terminal 1
Passengers can easily reach Ferihegy Terminal 1 from the Western (Nyugati) Railway Station in Budapest. On Budapest-Cegléd-Szolnok railway line (the line to Kecskemet) a new railway station has been built for regular trains to Terminal 1. The Szemeretelep railway station has been relocated about one and a half kilometres towards the airport. Two platforms have been built which are connected with a pedestrian footbridge equipped with lifts above the clearway. A short pedestrian path of just 200 meters connects the railway station with Terminal 1. So you can travel directly from terminal one to the Kecskemet studio by train without having to first go to the city centre.
51 trains a day travel from the city center to the airport within less than half an hour for 300ft.. There are 60 trains on weekdays and 45 at weekends from the airport to the city center. Arriving travellers can buy their tickets at Tourinform at Terminal 1 from 09.00 to 22.00. Outside opening hours, tickets can be bought from the conductors on the trains.
Travellers who would like to get to 2A or 2B terminals can travel by bus from this station.
Bus
You may find the bus the easiest way to get to Kecskemét. Take
the airport minibus to Népliget Bus Station and go to the information
desk - there is a separate English speaking desk if required.
The fast bus uses the motorway and reaches Kecskemét in about
75 minutes.

to Kecskemét leave Budapest from NÉPLIGET.

can be reached by the Blue Metro Line.
Buses
to Kecskem ét (via the motorway) leave Népliget at: 6.20,
6.45, 7.00, 10.00, 11.20, 12.15, 13.40, 14.05, 15.00, 15.30, 16.15,
16.45, 17.20, 18.30, 18.45, 19.30 and the last daily bus is 21.00plus Monday - Friday also at 15.45, 18.30.
